About Silent Majority
A hip-hop group from Lausanne, Switzerland, Silent Majority are among the cream of the Euro-rap generation challenging French and UK domination of the genre. Comprising DJ Goo, and MCs Nya and R Test, they deal in various languages (English, French, Spanish and even Swahili). The variety of linguistic styles is matched by DJ Goo’s supple rhythmic layers, which rarely lapse into the straight imitation of west and east coast American styles that so often afflicts European rap producers. Their 1994 debut album, La Jamorite Silencieuse, duly received glowing reviews in several European hip-hop magazines.
