In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I grew up listening to old school rap and my main inspirations were Tupac and Ms. Lauryn Hill. I was intrigued by the upfront charisma and the rawness of expressing true emotions of these two artists. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? J. Cole, 4 Your Eyez Only Lauryn Hill, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill Solange, A Seat at the Table All of these three albums are so important to me. They express what true emotions are. These artists never were scared to feel authentic and to portray their demons, their thoughts, their way of living into music. Tell us why you chose this song. “Amy” This specific track represents the pain of being addicted to something, in this case booze. I've always struggled with that and I've always tried to fight it and put it in my music. It helps me dealing with the shame sometimes I feel around it.
