Springfield, Missouri-born quartet TRSH uphold the great midwestern emo traditions of Modern Baseball and Marietta: riff-forward songcraft with heartfelt lyrics weaving tales of crashing and trying to claw out of rock bottom (often disguised by purely silly titles like “Dad Rock,” “Taco Tuesday,” or “Hyperpop Killed My Dog”). Formed in 2021, TRSH almost immediately turned heads with standalone “Dad Rock,” which garnered more than ten-million streams. Debut Kiss Me (2022) was a micro-epic emo album, on which most of the songs hovered under the three-minute mark. They issued Soporific, another hard-hitting album, only months later, and closed out the year with Dog People, a split EP alongside Oklahoma emo act SUNFO. After a myriad of choice non-album material, TRSH returned with the full-length String Theory in late 2025.
