About Rouzbeh Emad
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest musical memories come from sensing more than just melody. I was drawn to what moved beneath the surface of songs, without knowing it was harmony or orchestration. Later, I realized it was chord tension and counterpoint that moved me. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Arthur Rubinstein, Chopin: Nocturnes Frank Kim, Oblivion by Astor Piazzola - EP Josef Krips, London Symphony Orchestra, Beethoven: The Complete Symphony Collection These albums shaped my musical thinking in different ways: Beethoven for structure and large-scale form, Chopin for intimacy and emotional nuance, and Piazzolla for blending tradition with tension, rhythm, and modern expression. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Salam Atash” I chose this song for the contrast between its verses and chorus. Beyond melody and harmony, that formal contrast represents conflict, which I see as a defining force in both human experience and the world. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of the most memorable moments in my career was hearing a piece I had composed and arranged performed by a symphony orchestra for the first time during a rehearsal. It was the moment my ideas truly came to life in sound. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I want to do the things I haven’t done yet. I want to keep exploring everything music has to offer and remain a student, always learning and discovering.
