In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. We’re a family band, and I remember as really little kids Brandon played guitar and I made a drum kit out of pots and pans, and we played a concert for our Mom in the floor. I guess that was sort of the first experience we had with being in a band. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Switchfoot, Hello Hurricane The Beatles, Abbey Road (Remastered) Various Artists, Surf's Up (Music from the Motion Picture) Switchfoot's influence is immeasurable, they released HH independently after splitting from a major label and won their first Grammy for it, speaks for itself. Abbey Road because it's Abbey Road, duh. Do soundtracks count? Surf's Up has a great one. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “1600 (Nothing For Me Here)” This was the first song all 3 of us worked on together in the same room. Instead of tracking stuff separately, we spent hours in my studio (apartment) writing, recording, goofing off, and re-recording. That's really what shaped the song. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? We wrote a song for our uncle who lost his life to suicide, and we play it everywhere we go, to tell people their life is worth living. We've heard such meaningful responses from people about the song about how it's helped them. That's irreplaceable. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? We really love playing local shows and sharing music with our friends, but who knows what can happen! I think to play a show or write with our favorite artists would rock, and to play a show on the west coast, that would feel cool as Kentucky kids.
