Mawell

Mawell (born Víctor Luis Moya Gordillo) is a Cuban reggaeton artist celebrated as “la voz del reparto” -- the voice of a subgenre that fuses Cuban rhythms like rhumba and clave with reggaeton and hip-hop. Emerging in Cuba’s urbano scene as a teenager, he first gained attention in 2014 with the collaborative album La W Con La M Brincando El Charco. Despite early challenges and limited reach beyond local audiences, Mawell continued to release music that reflected life in Cuba’s working-class neighborhoods. His breakthrough came in 2023 when the viral hit “La Triple M” catapulted him to global recognition, earning millions of streams. After briefly stepping away from music, Mawell returned in 2025 with “Nutella."
