In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Few things will rival the feeling of accomplishment that came after I learned Für Elise by ear on the ancient upright piano in my family's garage as a kiddo (my first full classical piece). What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Djrum, Portrait With Firewood Lauryn Hill, MTV Unplugged No. 2.0 Solange, A Seat at the Table They're unflinchingly emotional & honest. These albums have carried me through many pivotal moments so it's nothing short of surreal to have been able to live in & through these albums at different stages of my life. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Once More” Its simplicity underscores its beauty. I'm transported back to the sessions creating it & to my meditations on breaking cycles of trauma & on the cyclical nature of life. Listening feels like I'm giving past me and future me a hug at the same time :) What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Twas a show I played w mostly theys, gays & dolls in attendance & on the lineup. During my set I saw contact improv 2 jungle in the midst of my pal live body painting + boppin' & later on someone was doing backflips b2b2b2b! The energy was sublime <3 Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Getting paid to make soundtracks would be a dream come true!
