In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. one of my earliest musical memories was growing up behind a tavern in Marapyane and hearing the music play every day. it would instantly put me in a good mood and made me dream of becoming a DJ. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Chris Brown, Exclusive (The Forever Edition) J. Cole, 2014 Forest Hills Drive Joey Bada$$, 1999 Chris Brown’s Exclusive takes me back to the album and concert DVD that made me wonder what I’d sound like on my own song, while 1999 and 2014 Forest Hills Drive deepened my love for lyricism and storytelling. Tell us why you chose this song. “A RE YE NG” I chose “A RE YE NG” because it represents the mindset that keeps me going: wake up, get up and grind. “A RE YE NG” means “let’s go,” and the alarm at the beginning represents that moment when it’s time to stop waiting and start moving. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of my most memorable moments was seeing “Chain’e,” a song I produced and mixed with Moshcar, reach No. 5 on Hype Magazine SA. It reminded me that the years of quietly building my craft were starting to reach people. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I still want to be one of the biggest names in music, perform on the biggest stages and have a fanbase that genuinely connects with what I create. More than anything, I want to leave behind music that lives forever and makes people feel something.
