In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. 7th grade, Lewis & Clark Middle School. I was entrusted with making beats on the lunchtable as my peers freestyled. After a few months, I finally decided to test my skills in the cypher and was taunted and told I needed to “stick to beats”. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Eminem, The Marshall Mathers LP Lil Wayne, Tha Carter Stephen Marley, Mind Control (Acoustic) Each of these albums directly impacted my style and understanding of music. Lil Wayne for his uncanny use of wit and metaphor. Eminem for his insatiable need to rhyme and heavy syllable usage. Stephen Marley for his use of Soul and live instruments. Edem Soul Music & Jamison Figueroa)” “Why Me” marked the beginning of my rebirth as an artist. The moment when I found my “sound”. From subject matter, to the tonal inflections, to the use of a live guitar. This song encompasses my full “essence” as an Artist. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Meeting my sister Tylynn after performing on the same lineup for a local concert. We immediately linked and started working on music that same night. She helped reignite my love/passion for producing and writing. And for that, I am forever grateful.
