Whether working with mellow hip-hop beats, trap-styled productions, or straightforward dance rhythms, the German rap group 01099 maintain a conversational approach to rapping and singing. Named after the postal code of their Dresden neighborhood, 01099 started as a lighthearted endeavor, but after their success with the parodic "Skyr" (2019), it became more serious with lyrical themes relating to everyday life and young adulthood. With their second EP, Dachenfester (2021), they first entered the Top Ten of the German album chart, and the subsequent Blaue Stunden (2023) and Kinder der Nacht (2024) went to number one. They've since issued Orange (2025), their fifth album.
