About John Roseboro
Playing a jazzy refinement of indie pop and Tropicália which he refers to as post-bossa, John Roseboro became active in the Brooklyn underground at the start of the 2020s, issuing a string of singles and EPs ahead of his self-released 2021 debut Human Nature. His unusual take on Brazilian jazz and folk is delivered with a dose of mysticism that sets him apart. His 2023 cover of Antônio Carlos Jobim's "Waters of March" with Mei Semones found some momentum, as did his second album, Johnny. Roseboro has maintained a prolific output, with a steady string of singles and EPs, as well as a third studio album, 2024's Fools. He also kept up his collaboration with Semones, and they released two more tracks together in 2026.
