In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I grew up in Istanbul surrounded by music; in the streets, cafés, radios, and family gatherings. I remember hearing both Turkish music and tangos drifting through the city, while at home my family listened to everything from classical music to blues. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Tell us why you chose this song. “This Road (feat. Nawar Helala)” This Road is an indie/alt track built on a traditional Turkish rhythm, creating a hypnotic sense of motion. Trumpet, piano, bass, and body percussion shape a late-night atmosphere exploring love, uncertainty, patience, and hope. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of the most memorable moments of my career was collaborating with Mercedes Sosa in Argentina. Sharing the stage with such an iconic artist deeply shaped my approach to music and performance. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Still on my artistic bucket list: recording and performing with artists from different traditions and cultures, while continuing to create multidisciplinary work that brings together music, movement, storytelling, and film.
