Pop singer Alaina Castillo got her start posting cover songs online before she began introducing original material in 2019. • Castillo began uploading covers in 2017—she’s done versions of songs by Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, and H.E.R. • She’s amassed millions of views with her “Sing You to Sleep” videos, wherein she sings medleys of downtempo covers in a soothing murmur to induce the sensation known as ASMR. • Her first original song, 2019’s “I Don’t Think I Love You Anymore,” became a streaming hit. The tune also appeared on her debut EP, 2019’s antisocial butterfly, a six-track release featuring lyrics in English and Spanish. • In 2020, she released the voicenotes and mensajes de voz, English- and Spanish-language versions of the same four-song EP.
