About Matthias Reim
Matthias Reim is a beloved German singer-songwriter of the sentimental Schlager style of music. ∙ Before releasing his eponymous 1990 debut album, he wrote for the German Schlager stars Roberto Blanco, Bernhard Brink, and Tina York, perfecting the genre’s sweet, simple style. ∙ Reim scored a huge hit with his propulsive 1990 smash “Verdammt, ich lieb Dich,” which spent 16 weeks atop the German singles chart while selling 2.5 million copies. ∙ He’s a four-time Best Schlager Artist nominee at the ECHO Awards, the German equivalent of the Grammys. ∙ Unendlich, his 2013 comeback LP, debuted at No. 1 on the German albums chart. ∙ The singer produced and cowrote songs for three albums by his longtime love, pop star Christin Stark, including 2020’s “Komm nie wieder,” a Top 20 hit in Germany.
