Gia Margaret

Gia Margaret's musical style -- a concept she calls "sleep rock" -- turns singer/songwriter conventions on their head by writing from a more ambient, keyboard-driven sonic palette than an acoustic one. After gaining notice for her 2018 debut There's Always Glimmer, Margaret pivoted even harder into piano and synth out of necessity when a vocal injury left her unable to sing. Her instrumental albums Mia Gargaret (2020) and Romantic Piano (2023) earned critical acclaim, and, thanks to the latter's "Hinoki Wood," considerable online virality which prepped her for a triumphant return to vocal performance on 2026's aptly titled Singing.
