Zzzahara makes detailed, melodic indie rock that flits between shoegaze, post-punk, and dream pop. The Los Angeles native first gained attention alongside Eyedress as one half of indie duo the Simps. 2022 proved a pivotal year for Zzzahara, who released their solo debut, Liminal Spaces, just eight months after the Simps' first full-length. Zzzahara returned a year later with their layered and deeply introspective sophomore LP, Tender, which they followed with 2025's Spiral Your Way Out, its more self-assertive sequel. Zzzahara turned their lens onto broader subject matter on 2026's Casey Lagos-produced Distant Lands, although it was still personal in nature.
