Sam Blasucci

Sam Blasucci is a Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter known both for his work as part of the rootsy folk-rock duo Mapache and for his more '60s and '70s pop-influenced, piano-based solo material. Beginning in the late 2010s, he and fellow singer/guitarist Clay Finch built a reputation for close harmonies and melodic, country-indebted songwriting with a distinctive West Coast flavor. In 2023, his band delivered their fifth album, Swinging Stars, and Blasucci released Off My Stars, his first solo effort. Inspired by the acquisition of a piano and a stint living in New Orleans, the album featured a more introspective lyrical tone and a varied instrumental palette with forays into pop and classic '70s-style singer/songwriter fare. His second solo LP, Real Life Thing, followed just a year later and was accompanied by a conceptual concert film of the same name.
