About Teddy Blass

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was 8 or 9 years old, my grandmother gave my brother and me a keyboard. I was immediately obsessed. I would sneak into my brother's room where the keyboard was kept, and I would try to figure out how to play the songs I loved as a kid. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Steve Reich Ensemble, Music for 18 Musicians My mind exploded the 1st time I heard this album. It was more than 20 years after its release and I had never heard anything like it. I like to imagine what it must've sounded like to people in 1978 and use that to push my own boundaries as a artist. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Kaleidosonik” I had the idea for this song while on a plane to San Francisco. What if the plane took off and launched us into outer space? I imagined a journey around the moon and back before eventually touching down. Kaleidosonik is that journey in musical form. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Although I work primarily as a film composer, I got my start producing pop music. As a kid I was massively obsessed with Swedish pop sensation Ace of Base. In 2009 I produced a remix for them. Hearing the group praise my work was a dream come true!
