Queens native Lexa Gates is a hardheaded rapper, singer, and producer whose casual flow is belied by her ruminative lyricism. Adept at working with soulful, sample-based beats and trap-adjacent productions alike, she released her first project, Order of Events, in 2020. After she built up a considerable following with a handful of additional independent releases, Gates linked with major-label Capitol and issued I Am in 2026.
