In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Auditioning in 2nd grade for the school chorus. I was asked to sing happy birthday while the teacher played the piano. I wasn't accepted. That lead me to play the cello. And that lead me to play the cello solo at Carnegie Hall 10 years later.
