Ariel Posen

Guitarist Ariel Posen is an artist who prefers not to be hemmed in by the boundaries of genre, instead exploring his instrument with a degree of ambition that incorporates blues, rock, jazz, funk, and experimental music with expressive imagination. Born and raised in Canada, Posen first earned acclaim working with roots rockers the Bros. Landreth, striking out on his own with 2019's How Long, an imaginative take on blues and roots music. The prolific composer and instrumentalist's 2021 album Headway was a more subdued and introspective set, 2022's Mile End was the first in a series of improvised instrumental collections, and 2026's Bannatyne, named for a street in his hometown, was an especially personal and heartfelt project.
