Composer Govind Vasantha’s soulful soundtrack for C. Prem Kumar’s Tamil film about a reunion of estranged childhood sweethearts is a vocal showcase. Piano, flute, violin and guitar form the foundation on which Pradeep Kumar and Chinmayi render ballads with maturity and restraint—either solo, as on Kumar’s “The Life of Ram” and Chinmayi’s “Vasantha Kaalangal”, or on the duets “Thaabangale” and “Iravingu Theevai”. There are two versions of hit single “Kaathalae Kaathalae”, which also forms part of the sole uptempo tune “Anthaathi”.
