Georgia native Pap Chanel’s confident rhymes and flamboyant personality fueled her rapid ascent through the ranks of the Atlanta rap scene. ∙ She began rapping in middle school and later adopted the name Pap Chanel, a moniker that stems from pretty and paid, a phrase she coined as a teenager. ∙ Rapper Lil Baby teamed up with her for the 2018 single “Talk 2 Cheap,” which also appeared later that year on her debut EP, The Definition of P.A.P. ∙ In 2019, she dropped the single “If I Want to I Will,” and the song’s title went on to become one of her signature phrases. ∙ Pretty & Paid, her 2020 debut mixtape, included a guest spot from Memphis hip-hop artist Blac Youngsta on the track “2 Way Street.” ∙ Atlanta legend Future asked her to join him on the 2020 single “Gucci Bucket Hat,” which also featured fast-rising artist Herion Young.
