Wood Belly

Wood Belly's tight harmonies, inventive arrangements, and classic string band sensibilities may have been forged in newgrass, but the Colorado group's expansive sound draws from a deep well of influences. The collective's jam band core radiates elements of alt-country, indie rock, bluegrass, and folk, resulting in a tasty and accessible Americana stew that won over roots music audiences in 2018 with the release of Solid Ground and helped them to win that year's Telluride Bluegrass Festival band competition. Released in 2023, Cicada saw the group deliver a wide-ranging, country and folk-rock-leaning set that reflected their newfound growth as players and composers.
