In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my earliest musical memories was being able to find comfort in melodies before fully understanding the power music would hold later in my life. Growing up around music, emotion and story telling has shaped the soft, honest style I am now. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Lauryn Hill, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill Njerae, Unintentional Sauti Sol, Midnight Train The miseducation of Lauryn Hill by Lauryn Hill - blends vulnerability, storytelling and honesty effortlessly. Midnight Train by Sauti-Sol -influenced my journey as an artist. Unintentional by Njerae represents the moment everything changed. Tell us why you chose this song. “Aki Sioni” Aki Sioni is special because of how raw and relatable it feels. the song writing is vulnerable without trying too hard and the delivery feels conversational like reading someone's diary out loud. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One would have to be releasing the ground breaking album unintentional and seeing 'Aki Sioni' become a fan favorite across Kenya and beyond. Being named Apple Music Africa Rising class of 2025, is also a memorable moment for me. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Collaborating with artists that really inspire me for example Ayra Starr while keeping my sound authentic and rotted at home. It is not about bigger stages for me but creating music that travels globally without loosing its honesty and softness.
