An injury led Ryad Kartoum to swap soccer for rap. Known as RK, the artist launched his career in 2017 with the single “1re mi-temps #RiyadMahrez,” which became a hit and paved the way for the creation of the 3.5.7 Music label, affiliated with Universal Music France. His music combines elements of melodic rap and trap, featuring lyrics that share personal stories, ambitions, and reflections on his journey. His debut album, Insolent, arrived in 2018, hitting number one on the charts during its release week and establishing him as a standout figure in the new French rap scene. In the following years, RK maintained a prolific release schedule of albums and singles, including Rêves de gosse (2019), Neverland (2020), 100 Rancunes (2021), Mentalité (2022), DL PDA (2024), and TOPBOY: Tome 1 (2025).
