Hans Williams

Hans Williams has spent time turning the conventions of singer-songwriter music askew in a fruitful independent career. Born and raised in Vermont, Williams was turned on to the music of his parents, from Steely Dan to Tracy Chapman. He later embraced elements of vintage soul, from James Brown to Al Green, and furthered his interest in modern folk, drawing influence from Bon Iver and Noah Kahan. These inspirations are palpable on early, self-released singles like 2018's "Guardian" and 2019's "Lost and Found," which already found him experimenting inside the conventions of sensitive, acoustic-driven singer/songwriter music - here augmented with electronic beats.
