About Yorkshire Modular Society
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. “Rachel’s Song” by Vangelis from the Blade Runner soundtrack. As a kid I’d hear it played at a local zoo to gather people for the seal show. Sitting there waiting, with that music drifting, left a deep impression on me. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Aphex Twin, Selected Ambient Works Volume II (Expanded Edition) Brian Eno, Discreet Music William Basinski, The Disintegration Loops (Remastered) I bought SAW II to help me relax and concentrate while studying for my GCSEs. A few tracks featured in Chris Morris’ TV show Jam, which introduced me to a lot of the music I still listen to today. Track 19 still feels untouchable. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Moving” I wrote this shortly after my father passed away in 2024. I was working in the studio when my young son came in and said it sounded like “heaven, and Opa.” His understanding of the piece stayed with me. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Opening for William Basinski in Leeds in 2023. Hearing my work in that context meant a lot, and getting the chance to sit and talk with him afterwards about music, time and process made it unforgettable. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? World tour. Club residency. Releasing a record with Kranky.
