About Catherine MacLellan
An award-winning Canadian singer/songwriter with an artful lyrical eye and a rich, affecting voice, Catherine MacLellan came by her talents naturally -- her father, Gene MacLellan, was himself a celebrated tunesmith who penned some of the biggest Canadian hits of the 1970s. After playing in bands, MacLellan broke out as a solo artist with the release of her well-received first album, 2003's Dark Dream Midnight. Subsequent LPs Church Bell Blues, Water in the Ground, and Silhouette brought further acclaim. Released in 2014, The Raven's Sun took home a Juno Award, and in 2017 MacLellan paid tribute to her father's life and work with the album If It's Alright with You: The Songs of Gene MacLellan. ~ Mark Deming
