Do Nothing

British post-punk band Do Nothing make music that's artfully dynamic, merging instrumental polish with jerky, spidery rhythms and surreal, stream-of-consciousness vocals from lead singer and lyricist Chris Bailey. Their sound was elemental and angular on early singles like "Waitress" and "Handshakes" (both released in 2018), while the 2020 EP Zero Dollar Bill added a bit more gloss to the guitars and vocals while still maintaining their nervous energy. The group's first full-length album, 2023's Snake Sideways, revealed a new level of sophistication and a hint of jazz in their arrangements, though the sharper side of the music still cut deep when they brought it to the surface.
