About Emma Jackson

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Watching Scrooge when I was 5, feeling drawn to the choir singing. I ran to my great grandmothers piano and reached up to try and play what I had heard. I couldn't remember past the first three notes, so decided to come up with my own ending! What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Lizzy McAlpine, five seconds flat Novo Amor, Cannot Be, Whatsoever Ólafur Arnalds, Late Night Tales: Ólafur Arnalds These three albums take me on a journey. I absolutely love how each one makes my mind go quiet and follow a cinematic story in my mind. The mixture of quiet, kind and calming vocals, and the instrumentation make me feel so curiously inspired. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Upon the Ocean” I wrote this track inspired by a Storms and Shipwrecks exhibition at the Musée de la Vie romantique. Split into a four section journey, each section is written to a painting where the ocean is getting more and more stormy, before going back to calm. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I wrote the piece Coral Berry when I was 18, and it was the first track on my first Piano Mindfulness album. Years later, Disney needed a piano piece for a sync placement. On a whim I shared with them Coral Berry, and it ended up in the final film.
