Born in the UK but raised in Canada, Edmonton-based singer-rapper 80purppp (aka Nathan Oddoye) broke out in 2018 with the breezy single “Hex.” He followed it up with a debut LP, Violet High, whose title sufficiently implied its velvety, late-night R&B vibe. 80purppp’s second project, 2022’s If Anything, further built on his momentum with an equally suave, even more soulful approach. Two EPs appeared in 2025: Sides A and B of Suite 96, a personal reflection on his climb—with a view from the top floor.
