One of my earliest music memory I was 16 years old, gathered with my friends in a bus terminal when I first heard Gqom music. It was blasting from a taxi speaker. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Black Coffee, Home Brewed DJ Lag, Uhuru KAYTRANADA, 99.9% I choose these three because they represent our roots (DJ Lag), our sonic goals (Kaytranada), and South African house legacy (Black Coffee) which are taking us from Newlands West to the world. Tell us why you chose this song. “Skibha SaBravo” I love "Skibha SaBravo" by Unticipated Soundz because that relentless, pounding Gqom bass hits so hard it feels like the whole room is shaking, pulling me straight into a high-energy South African dance vibe. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of the most memorable moments in our career so far was dropping "Amanikiniki" with DJ Lag back in 2019 and seeing the official video blow up on Rolling Stone. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? One big thing still on our bucket list is headlining a major international festival like Ultra Miami or Tomorrowland, bringing that raw uThayela Gqom energy with its hard basslines and township chants to a massive global crowd.
