About Eric Johanson

Eric Johanson is a blues-rock guitarist who splices together six-string theatrics with a colorful throwback aesthetic and a hint of an exploratory edge. Based in New Orleans, Johanson was a sideman for Louisiana legends like Terrance Simien and Cyril Neville before striking out on his own. After making his debut with 2017's Burn It Down, Johanson carved out a reputation as an adventurous, blues-based musician with a series of independent albums, breaking through with 2023's The Deep and the Dirty; he gave fans a taste of his live show with 2025's Live in Mississippi.
