Nadah El Shazly

Nadah El Shazly is an artist, vocalist, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. Born in Egypt and currently based in Montreal, her work radically reinvents the early 20th popular music styles of her homeland while exploring futurist sonic, harmonic, textural, and dynamic frontiers. Following the release of 2017's Ahwar, her debut album, she became a cornerstone of the Egyptian musical underground. The following year she appeared on the cover of British experimental music bible The Wire in an issue devoted to "Cairo's New Wave." El Shazly scored Fyzal Boulifa's award-winning feature The Damned Don't Cry , Saudi director Mahmoud Sabbagh's feature Last Party in R. Desert!, and Mahdi Fleifel's feature To a Land Unknown. In June 2025, Shazly issued her second long-player, Laini Tani.
