In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Venia got its start in 2002 when guitarists Viktor and Jere started jamming together and seeking more band members. The lineup was completed in early 2004 with vocalist/violinist Veronica, drummer Daniel and bassist Juhani. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Deliverance, Weapons of our Warfare (Remastered) Theocracy, Theocracy Tourniquet, Pathogenic Ocular Dissonance (Collector's Edition) The ultimate benchmark for technical aggression and complex structures. A monumental one-man effort that proved how majestic and complex the genre could be. A textbook example on how to mix melody with speed and heaviness. Tell us why you chose this song. “The Path” Originally intended for our first demo, we felt this track was too aggressive for our melodic roots. However, the audience resonated with its raw power. It became the bridge to a heavier sound, defining the thrashier edge that shaped our direction. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? In 2010 Venia participated on the Deliverance tribute album "Temporary Insanity - A Salute to Deliverance" with a cover of the song Desperate Cries. This turned out to be a succesful choice and even Jimmy P. Brown II of Deliverance really enjoyed it. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? We hope that the follow-up album to Victory by Surrender will be ready one day. Until then, we are dedicated to bringing our full legacy and recordings directly to our fans.
