About Ellende

Ellende, the atmospheric post‑black metal project from Graz, Austria, channels intensity through haunting ambience rather than sheer volume. Led by multi‑instrumentalist Lukas Gosch and supported live by longtime drummer Paul Färber, the band’s name derives from a Middle High German term meaning "exiled" or "miserable." Early EPs and albums established its signature blend of melodic calm and explosive ferocity, later expanded through releases on AOP Records. Throughout the 2020s, Ellende's profile grew steadily, culminating in 2026’s Zerfall, which marked a major commercial breakthrough.
