Bears in Trees

This Croydon, south London quartet distill folk-punk, emo, and indie pop to create perky, lyrical, agreeable songs exploring themes of hope, friendship, change, and personal challenge. Three years on from their formation, 2017's Just Five More Minutes became their first proper album, which they followed with Bits n' Pieces, a short EP of ten song fragments. 2019's I See Blue EP was a twee take on nocturnal soul-searching, and 2020 saw the release of the diametrically themed companion EPs I Want to Feel Chaotic and Keep Me Safe. The full-length And Everybody Else Smiled Back appeared later that year and led to the 2022 EP, Every Moonbeam, Every Feverdream. 2024's U.K. Top 20 album, How to Build an Ocean: Instructions, saw them explore darker, more mature themes while retaining their commercial vibrancy.
