In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was maybe 4 years old, my mother who was a huge Beatles fan had a cassette of theirs playing in the car as we were headed somewhere and I asked her if that was her friend Rhonda singing because her voice sounded like his to me at the time. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Stereolab, Sound-Dust The Cure, Disintegration 2010 Remaster The Smashing Pumpkins, Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness (2012 Remastered) I have always been drawn to lush productions with varied songwriting that impart a certain mood across the whole album. Two of these three were recorded by some of my favorite engineers, Jim O'Rourke and Flood Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Cage” Cage pushed my songwriting and production further than I had been able to realize before it. The theme is of two lovers or friends who can't help but sabotage their own relationship yet each find a way to blame it on the other party. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Getting to open up for Cursive in a small local bar show. Becoming a trusted recording engineer in the local underground music scene. Recording and mixing our album Water Works with the legendary Steve Albini Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I just wish for us to continually refine ourselves to write better and better music and hopefully find an audience that appreciates it.
