In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. At the age of 5, I experienced my first live TV performance through a local public access station in Prince Albert - the closest city to my secluded childhood village. I didn't actually play a single note. I just stared at the lights and cameras. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? A student of mine had come in and wanted to learn the piece, and I couldn't help but see my own reflection in his work. My friend Elliott Jacqués is a timeless genius. Tell us why you chose this song. “Shine” I took the time to source out a number of different materials to place between the hammer and the strings of my new Yamaha U3 upright in hopes of achieving a more transient tone with my recordings. Sometimes the best compositions are improvisations.
