About Sean Dampte
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my earliest musical memories is waking up to my dad playing King Sunny Ade and Obey every Sunday. The talking drums felt like home. Later, gospel music took over with the blend of groove, praise, and story deeply shaped the artist I am today. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? 2Pac, All Eyez On Me Rick Ross, God Forgives, I Don't (Deluxe Edition) Sean Dampte, Mo Kuti: Afrobeat Fella My top 3 albums are All Eyez On Me by 2Pac, God Forgives, I Don't by Rick Ross, and Mo Kuti: Afrobeat Fella by me, Sean Dampte. Together, they reflect my mindset — raw truth, boss ambition, and Afrobeat soul wrapped in real-life experience. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Na You Make This Bed” Na You Make This Bed is special because it speaks to personal accountability. It’s raw, emotional, and reflective. It is a reminder that we often lie in the consequences of our own choices. I poured real-life experience into every lyric. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The Sean Dampte Live in Concert, Lagos was my first headline show in the state I was born and I was so proud of myself for pulling it off with my team The experience will always remain special to me. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I am looking forward to my first Grammy Win, not that it would matter much but it will matter much. And getting nominated without winning would not be an option. And I am looking to selling out my 100,000 audience in the near future.
