Moyses Dos Santos

Moyses Dos Santos is a Brazilian electric bassist, bandleader, and composer who is based in London. One of the U.K.'s premier jazz and funk bassists, he is celebrated for blending the traditional rhythms of Northeast Brazil with modern jazz, soul, and disco. He's collaborated, toured and performed with Emili Sandé, Nile Rodgers, Janelle Monáe, Gregory Porter, Celeste, and Brazilian fusion ensemble Azymuth among others. His technical virtuosity has never obscured the root currents in his sound, from the syncopated swing of samba, maracatus, baiaos, and frevos that he has enveloped into the wellspring of global funk, jazz, and pop he plays today. In June 2026, Dos Santos issued his debut album Maria on Far Out Recordings. Among his collaborators were Arthur Verocai, trumpeter Theo Croker, and vocalist Lynda Dawn.
