Joanne Pollock

Joanne Pollock is a singer, songwriter, and producer from Toronto, Canada. Equal parts IDM and left-field pop, her dreamy, curious songs feature introspective lyrics that manage to mesh smoothly with the subtly complex electronic rhythms. Pollock began releasing songs online during the early 2010s. Her instrumental EP December was released in 2013, and featured a song recorded by Aaron Funk, best known for his work as Venetian Snares. Pollock and Funk formed a duo called Poemss, and Planet Mu released their self-titled debut in 2014. Following the release of Pollock's 2015 EP Optimist, she moved to Funk's home town, Winnipeg. Pollock's debut solo full-length, Stranger, an accomplished set of abstract electronic pop, was released by Funk's Timesig imprint in 2017. ~ Paul Simpson
