The Ghana-born, Maryland-based rapper originally performed as Jayo, but he quickly built a bigger following in the 2010s with his new alias, optimizing his social media presence as he independently released the projects Fogtavious Vandross (2018) and Fogtavious Vandross 2 (2022).
