In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I was about three years old with a Gumby haircut like Bobby Brown, performing a dance routine with other kids. We’d bring out a jukebox, press play, and dance. When my dad arrived, I got emotional, cried, and ran offstage after a few moves. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Michael Jackson, The Essential Michael Jackson N.E.R.D, In Search Of... The Internet, Ego Death My top three are Ego Death by The Internet, The Essential Michael Jackson, and N.E.R.D.’s In Search Of.... They shaped my love for songwriting, performance, and the innovative sounds that still influence how I hear music today. Tell us why you chose this song. “Inside Your Love” I chose “Inside Your Love” because it showed a different side of my artistry. As the first single from One Way Ticket, I was able to sing more than rap and lead with R&B instead of the heavy hip-hop I’m known for. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of my most memorable moments was performing at a festival in South Korea in 2018. Standing on top of the South Korean Times Tower overlooking Seoul, I remember thinking, “Wow, music got me here,” and realizing how far this journey had taken me. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? There’s so much of the world I still want to see and so many people I want to reach through music. My bucket list is to travel beyond Canada, see more of my own country, and bring my music to as many stages and people around the world as possible.
