About Wendy Eisenberg
Wendy Eisenberg is a singer/songwriter, guitarist, banjoist, and poet. Whether employing free jazz, new music, extreme metal, or art song, they explore knotty questions about the place of the human body and the mercurial relationship it has with artistic practice. Their debut, Collected Early Works, was issued in 2015, followed by June 2016's Window Box EP and April 2017's Time Machine. The same year, Eisenberg, also member of experimental quartet Birthing Hips, played on their full-length debut, Urge to Merge. Eisenberg released a pair of improv albums in October 2018: the solo Its Shape Is Your Touch, and the John Zorn-produced The Machinic Unconscious. 2021's Auto and Bent Ring earned global accolades. In 2024, Eisensberg released two albums: Accept When in collaboration with saxophonist Caroline Davis in April, and Viewfinder in September. In March 2026, Eisenberg released an eponymous album that focused on their abilities as a singer/songwriter.
