About Caro Molina

Nicknamed "La Rancherita", María Carolina Figueroa Molina built her career as a singer of regional Mexican fare – even if she was actually Chilean. Born in Quillota in 1981, as a child Molina was already singing ranchera at local festivals and competitions. As she turned 20, Molina moved to Santiago to become a professional and in 2001 released Prueba De Fuego, a debut album heavily influenced by Selena's mixture of pop and Tejano. Also a dancer and TV host, Molina spent most of the decade as part of the cast of a popular TV variety show, and only resumed her solo career in 2009 with Ranxerita, followed one year later by Muñeca. Rancherízate (2024), her first album in more than a decade, appeared in 2024.
