Necrot are a hard-grooving death metal trio based in Oakland, California. They were formed by drummer Chad Gailey, bassist/guitarist/vocalist Luca Indrio, and guitarist Sonny Reinhardt. The trio's sound is extremely aggressive. Their first two demos -- Necrot and Into the Labyrinth -- appeared in 2012, followed by their third demo, 2014's The Abyss. Necrot garnered positive press and compiled the demos for 2016's The Labyrinth. Blood Offerings, a proper full-length, was released in June of 2017 to near universal acclaim. Three years later, follow-up Mortal, recorded by Greg Wilkinson, appeared the during the COVID-19 pandemic. Necrot returned to the road in summer 2021, playing the festival scene. In September 2023, they entered Oakland's Earhammer Studio with Wilkinson. They emerged a month later with the seven tracks comprising Lifeless Birth. Mastered by Brad Boatright, it was released in April 2024. ~ Thom Jurek
