The Clause

Birmingham-based indie rock band the Clause take elements from the '60s, '80s, and '90s for a mix of boisterous energy and catchy disco groove. The band was formed in 2015 by school friends Pearce Macca (guitar, vocals), Liam Deakin (guitar), Jonny Fyffe (bass), and Niall Fennell (drums). Despite putting in the work and recording demos while they were still 16, the COVID-19 pandemic put the brakes on their progress. They used the time to write and record even more music, initially in the form of their debut single, 2021's "Time of Our Lives." The track went viral despite the lockdowns, spurring them on to release their debut EP, 2022's Forever Young. More EPs followed before the release of their debut album, 2025's Victim of a Casual Thing.
