In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was younger, my brother and I would huddle around our home stereo system, writing down lyrics of songs by pausing and rewinding them continuously. This was a big part of how we interacted with music and was my gateway into writing my songs. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? D'Angelo, Voodoo Kendrick Lamar, To Pimp a Butterfly Michael Jackson, Thriller Voodoo reminded me of the soul/jazz music my father brought us up on, mixed with the hip hop I loved. To Pimp A Butterfly is the same but in reverse - the Hip Hop I love mixed with the soul/jazz music from my father. Thriller is THE pop masterpiece. Tell us why you chose this song. “MEDITATE” This song distils a lot about my personality - the ability to stay poised and balanced while acknowledging the craziness of the world. I'm happy I pulled off a song that perfectly captures my feelings in the moment, while remaining relatable.
